Connecting the dots of a year of embroideries

On 2022, I realized that many of the embroideries I did throughout the year had a strong theme: queerness. Not only that, but also the perspective I had was special, as these embroideries weren't denouncing, pessimistic or focused on the pain, but were rather celebratory and uplifting of those little moments and feelings that had brought me joy and tenderness throughout the last months. So that's how this collection of embroideries came to be as a year of queerness. An assortment of phrases, images, books, inspiration, exclamations in different formats and techniques.

Showcasing the collage of pieces

When presenting this project on Nuevo Reino's 2022 Portal or a solo exhibition at Sala Lazaroff's hall in Montevideo, it felt right to showcase them almost as a collage, creating a visual wall to represent my state of being at the time.
